Marie has a product-based business named Kitchen Witch, which is based on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. Her products include handmade soaps, deodorants and candles that contain essential oils, and some other items. At first it was a hobby but then it grew bigger and bigger, and she began to get burned out.

Marie has lost her spark of creativity when it comes to her business. Lately her business tasks have become more of a chore than a passion, the way it used to be when it was only her hobby. She is having a struggle balancing her time and energy with the many work and life tasks she has on her plate.

She also has gotten into the habit of giving items away to friends for free and she realizes she can’t do that anymore but the thought of setting boundaries and saying “no more free items” feels awkward and uncomfortable. We cover all of this and a lot more in this episode.

How is Marie doing now? Here’s an update:

Hi cousin,

I really loved getting coached by you on the podcast and it gave me so much to think about after talking to you.

I decided to take a huge leap of faith and I’m in the process of opening my own brick-and-mortar business, and I’m expanding Kitchen Witch Hawaii, so this is really exciting; it’s really a huge big deal.

As far as the things that we talked about during the podcast, the biggest takeaway that I took to heart was the courage to really stand up and say “This is my business – and I’m protecting it. I’m running it, I own it and I’m really proud of it.”

I’m really stepping into that persona of being a bad ass business owner!
